A scale validation on beliefs about life after death and anguish perception

Abstract

The importance of the study of beliefs about life after death focuses on the understanding of the different explanations that arise from the questioning of the subject itself, and its relation to the feelings derived from the fact of the undeniable mortality of every human being. Therefore, this work was aimed to know the beliefs about life after death their relationship with the perceived anguish through the construction and validation of a scale that would allow to account for this information. A sample of 240 inhabitants of Mexico City was used, to whom an instrument with five-point Likert type response scale was applied. Subsequently, through different statistical tests, the instrument was validated, giving as a first result that there is internal consistency among the items that make up the scale.
