Main Article Content
Abstract
A psychologist is a professional with a solid training, who possesses the knowledge, skills and attitudes for the prevention, intervention and investigation of different problems related to discipline, in different contexts and settings. The objective of the present study was to identify the competences acquired by the students who attended the basic stage of the psychology curriculum, FES Zaragoza, UNAM. 239 students, men and women participated (Mage = 19 years old, from = 1.7). They responded the questionnaire for the evaluation of competencies and skills for students of psychology voluntarily. The results suggest students command of generic and disciplinary competences. However, in leadership skills, theoretical-methodological knowledge and management of statistical packages registered a low score (M = 2). As it can be seen, it´s in disciplinary knowledge, where they are considered to have less training, which is why it is important to implement measures to strengthen these areas of knowledge.
