Behavior in high school students: validation of a scale

Abstract
The aim of the present research was the validation of the Inventory of Prosocial Behaviors in the School Context1. An was worked with a sample not probabilistic intentionally integrated by 378 participants from eastern of Mexico City, 162 men and 210 women (6 persons did not answer), of 11 to 16 years old (M = 13, SD= 1.03) belonging to three school grades of the afternoon shift (30.7% of 1º, 32.8% of 2º and 36.5% of 3º) of the junior high school. An analysis was realized factorial orthogonal where there were obtained 22 reagents distributed in five dimensions: empathy and verbal consolation, deep scout, physical and verbal service, physical help and solidarity and verbal help, with a total variance explained of 67% and a global reliability of the scale of 0.932. This instrument relies on the requirements of reliability and validity, same that they sustain it as a way to evaluate the prosocial behavior.
