Abstract

Introduction. The adherence of patients is an indicator that predicts cardiovascular morbidity and mortality found.
Objective. Knowing the frequency of adherence of patients presenting with hypertension and factors adjuvants.
Methodology. A descriptive, observational, cross-sectional study. Data collection was performed by means of the certificate of survey. The instrument assessed socioeconomic, health services, therapy and patient data were analyzed using version 21.0 SPSS DR.
Results. The average age of respondents is 60 years, 69 % take their medications regularly, while 66% always attends query. As factors influencing 64 % always have health coverage, 67 % always have moral and instrumental support from family and friends, 85 % stated clearly in the instructions. Other situations that influence adherence are the availability of time, distance and disinterest.
Conclusions. The study population has a high percentage of adherence and a direct relationship with both contributing factors such as those limiting the focus on reinforcing the possibility and coverage of health services along with the clarity of the medical indications factors.
