El desarme en el mundo actual

Abstract

The author examines the most relevant aspects of the struggle of international society, especially channelled through the Conference on Disarmament of the United Nations, to move towards the chimera of general and complete disarmament. He stresses its results and achievements and highlights the most important current challenges, some quite novel, which require the disarming the remaining arms race, the horizontal proliferation of certain types of weapons, the ambitions of power of some States, and especially the heavy cargo, human and economic, they imply for peace, security and development of the vast majority of the world’s peoples.
