Author Biography

Jacqueline Peschard Mariscal, Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México

Doctor in social sciences from El Colegio de Michoacán, Mexico, professor in political science and sociologist from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM). She is currently a tenured professor at the Facultad de Ciencias Políticas y Sociales of the UNAM. She was a citizen advisor of the Instituto Federal Electoral and commissioner of the Instituto Nacional de Acceso a la Información (INAI), which she chaired from 2009 to 2013. Among her publications are La cultura política democrática and Transparencia y partidos políticos; also Transparencia: promesas y desafíos. She is currently a full member of Seminario de Cultura Mexicana and the Academia Mexicana de Ciencias, as well as coordinator of the Seminario Universitario de Transparencia (SUT) of the UNAM.
