The Persuasive Machinery, Organic Dialogue and Tautological Environment. A Three-Dimensional Conceptualization of Political Communication and its Impact on Public Opinion

Abstract
The definition of political communication field depends on the general position adopted on communication. This paper discusses three possibilities of a conceptual definition of political communication based on Sfez’s communication metaphors proposal: mechanic political communication, organic political communication and tautological political communication. At last, there is a reflection about the consequences that such definitions have for public opinion studies.
