UVEG’s counseling program: work in progress. Student follow up system

Abstract

This document is the result of a year-long peer discussion at the Universidad Virtual del Estado de Guanajuato. It includes documented data through the work of counselors from the perspective of online teachers, teachers who are content experts and promoters and directors of the academic division.

Its aim is to communicate the result of this collective endeavor, basis of the Student Follow up System, required by counselors at UVEG. It describes the way in which we conceive counseling, its purposes, the method followed and initial conclusions. A balance of strengths we identify and should promote as well as weaknesses we have to reflect upon is presented.
