Abstract

Bam Cellular Connection for the Prepárate Rural Program–CONAFE. A case study UNAM’s high school on-line model works with a platform with a basic requirement: constant connection.  For this reason the only communities that can employ this program must have access to adequate and constant connection.  We present a case study which demonstrates the use of third generation cellular technology to provide a wide band mobile unit (BAM). This unit takes advantage of available commercial services in the State of Mexico and thus students can participate in the program Prepárate –Rural, that involves governmental entities and the private sector as stakeholders.

Although the UNAM on-line model can be used with this technology, it is still difficult to provide these BAM services in more isolated regions of our country.
