Abstract
En este artículo se analizan los rasgos particulares del proceso de acumulación en el ámbito capitalista no rentístico de Venezuela en el periodo 1957-2006 a partir del enfoque marxista. Considerando que la producción capitalista se somete a la maximización del beneficio, se estudia la trayectoria de la tasa de ganancia a partir de las variables de la tecnología de la producción y la distribución. Este análisis permite mostrar los desequilibrios específicos de la reproducción capitalista en una economía no desarrollada dependiente de la renta petrolera como es Venezuela. Ello se refleja en una particular distorsión de la relación entre la rentabilidad, la acumulación y el crecimiento económico, con graves consecuencias sobre la productividad y la distribución del ingreso.
