EXPECTATIVAS Y DECISIONES EMPRESARIALES: IMPLICACIONES MACROECONÓMICAS PARA URUGUAY

Abstract
Este artículo estudia las implicaciones macroeconómicas sobre la actividad, la inversión y el empleo de la dinámica de las expectativas empresariales. Se pone a prueba la hipótesis de asimetría en la reacción de las expectativas de los agentes según el contexto macroeconómico imperante sea adverso o favorable. El análisis empírico se basa en herramientas de series temporales sobre datos trimestrales entre 1997 y 2012. Los resultados muestran que la dinámica de ajuste de la inversión a las relaciones de equilibrio halladas es no-lineal. Éste es más acelerado en contextos macroeconómicos adversos, evidenciando una sobrerreacción de los agentes ante noticias económicas negativas acorde a la hipótesis de aversión a la pérdida.
