Abstract

This study records, as a state-of-the-art, the research that has been carried out since 2000 on the use of the PIL test in the educational context. To do this, first, a review of the literature was carried out limited to online available texts; then, a selection was made of the studies found and they were arranged chronologically. The results allow a glimpse of the authors working on the topic, the sample they use, whether they combine the PIL test with other research instruments or not and the type of document produced. The results highlight the number of findings (n=64) from this review study, the preponderance of research using student samples (n=56), the scarcity of the application of PIL in other educational agents (n=8), the prevalence of articles and undergraduate thesis among the documents in which the research is reported, among other aspects. From this review work, it can be concluded, then, that it has approximated a review of the literature in Spanish on the use of the PIL test in the educational context in the period 2000-2021. This state of the art exposed here makes it possible to articulate the findings presented here with future research.
