Abstract

The depression is one of the problems psychological singular that more affects our daily activities, since it can be considered a mental dysfunction characterized by feelings of uselessness, it accuses, sadness and it discourages. On the other hand, the anxiety is characterized by an intense interior uneasiness that the person is not able to control, this last one usually appears in some cases like symptom of the depression. Therefore, the objective was to know the relationship between the anxiety and the depression in men and women that develop school activities during most of the day, and to know if differences exist among these. Participated 80 students. Two test was applied, the scale of Beck to evaluate the depressive levels and the test of Hamilton to evaluate the levels of anxiety. The results showed that a correlation exists among these variables. Significant differences were not identified between the depression and anxiety, although the women showed higher scores in the two tests. The implications of the results are discussed by the light of the clinical psychology.
