Abstract

The present article exposes in a synthetic way the causes that the scientific investigation is revealing in the substances abuse and dependence problem, contemplating both the biological perspective and psychological and social views. These images are not contradictory, but they supplement in a more complex one that leads us to the natural reinforcement field and the pleasure control topic. In turn, this latter takes us to the moral and religious controls. In fact, the current society shows great vulnerability in this point. Seeing the complexity of the problem, it is proposed a strategy of early and community prevention that generates a values change, with values based in a new ideology. So an atmosphere will be created where the drugs demand would fall and the international politicians of fight against the drug would be more effective.
