La conducta autodestructiva relacionada con trastornos de personalidad en adolescentes mexicanos

Abstract

A behavior often observed among adolescents is the selfdestructive behavior showed of physical way and without suicidal intentionality, this behavior has been studied by psychology, having an extensive variety as for classifications and forms. The objective of this investigation is to realize a comparative analysis of the relation that exists between the self-destructive behavior showed of physical way, indicated in a sample of adolescents, and the characteristics of the personality features. A descriptive and cross-sectional study was carried out; with a sample of 19 Mexican students, among 12 and 14 years, from the sample was formed two groups, the first one of study and the second of control; it was applied the questionnaire of personality CBCL 4-18 of Achenbach, the results that the instrument threw were put under the statistic analysis, obtaining the measures of central tendency and dispersion, once successfully obtained the data before mentioned, the T-student-Welch test was applied, (α=.05) same that allowed to know the existence significant differences between the groups of the sample. The results help us to confirm the existence of an association between some personality disorders with selfdestructive behavior at certain levels.
