Abstract

Numerous studies have proved the existence of gender differences regarding the recognition of the symptoms of depression. These differences can be enhanced if it is compared the moment in which a sad mood conceived as a common and likely event of everyday life is predominant versus the moment of making the decision of asking for assistance in mental health. The Beck Depression Inventory (BDI) was used in this study with the aim of obtaining empirical evidence to account for the existence of said differences, surveying their intensity and comparing them at the different moments mentioned above.
