Abstract
The article takes as its starting point the consideration of a sample of 849 Mexican federal deputies between 1997 and 2021 to present the findings on the extent to which political recruitment influenced the type of experience, opinions/notion of representation and political ideology of the legislators? From this, the authors point to several results related to political parties and student associations; political experience and income through civil, business or student associations. And regarding the notion of representation and ideology. Finally, in the conclusions they discuss the importance of analyzing the interaction between the formal channels of access to political representation and the attitudes and perceptions of representatives at the individual level
