The reformist episode in Mexico (2012-2014): Exploring the reasons for change in the second alternation

Abstract
The article aims to provide an explanation of successful negotiation and approval of reforms in the early years of presidency of Enrique Peña Nieto (2012-2018). This “reformist episode” can be understood because of the combination of three important elements: a) the political contextin which the new government took power, b) the mechanism for negotiating with political parties,and c) the internal dynamics of parties as a result of the electoral process in 2012
