Abstract

The author offers a review of the historical conjuncture and theoretical debates that took place in the late 1950s, during which it was introduced a version of the development theory. It criticized the Eurocentric view and it distanced itself from the take-off model of development. Both of them tried to set foot in Latin America by pressure of the United States.
