Main Article Content
Abstract
Our goal is to give an account of the origins of the people’s power to create a 21st Century socialismin Venezuela, and also to understand the concrete role of communal councils. In order to do that,we analyze it from a conceptual triad, such as subalternity, antagonism and autonomy, to identifythe current situation of those councils in their relationship with a State inherited from the FourthRepublic. We wrap up with a general point of view on some of the problems that encounter theBolivarian movement to create a socialist system.
