In defense of Sociology as a tradition

Abstract

During my years-long experience as a teacher and researcher in Sociology, I have been sharpening my look around the what, how and why of the discipline. In the present article it doesn’t intend to shed light on the controversies we find in the sociological literature, but to show my reading, which is one among others, reading that does not exhaust the hermeneutics of sociologists and aware that it is being challenged by the rest of interpreters, who are many. The space of Sociology is defined as a tradition, which could be the position of the sociological observer and the discipline forms of social intervention.
