Abstract

Undoubtedly, the concept of risk is one of the main theoretical tools available to contemporary sociology to account for the dynamics of modern society. Among the authors devoted to think of risk from a theoretical point of view, Ulrich Beck and Niklas Luhmann stand out. This paper presents, analyzes and compares the reflections on the subject of risk made by these authors. The article concludes by outlining the possibility of complementing the ideas of both authors.
