La bioética y el bioderecho en defensa de los derechos de los animales
Main Article Content
Abstract
The Constitution of Mexico City recognizes animals as subjects of ethical and legal consideration. It implies a paradigm shift because animals had always been considered movable property. This change is due to the postulates of Zooethics that maintain that we must extend moral consideration to sentient beings, which allows us to provide Biolaw with an innovative theoretical framework that helps recognize animals’ legal personalities. The article aims to understand the scope and content of the recognition of animals as law subjects.
