Abstract

IN THIS WORK THE DESIGN, CONSTRUCTION AND PERFORMANCE OF 40 KHZ ULTRASONIC WATER LEVEL MEASURER IS REPORTED. EM BEDDED INTO A REMOTE UNIT, IT IS USED TO MEASURE THE WATER LEVEL IN AQUACULTURE PONDS. A RESOLUTION OF ± 0,003 M IS AT TAINED WITH A MEASUREMENT RANGE UP TO 10 M. THE SOUND SPEED IS COMPENSATED WITH THE MEASUREMENTS OF THE AMBIENT TEMPERATURE BY MEANS OF A DIGITAL SENSOR THAT USES THE 1-WIRE COMMUNICATION PROTOCOL. THE INFORMATION IS DISPLAYED IN A LCD AND SENT TO A LOCAL UNIT BY MEANS OF THE BLUETOOTH WIRE LESS PROTOCOL. A GRAPHICAL USER INTERFACE PROGRAMMED IN MATLAB THROUGH A USB PORT ALLOWS REAL TIME MONITORING. AN EEPROM IS CONNECTED BY THE I2C PROTOCOL AND USED AS DATA BACKUP. THIS SYSTEM WAS DEVELOPED WITH THE MICROCONTROLL
