Abstract

The fight for women’s right to education dates back a long time and has achieved a significant educational position across various levels of education, particularly in higher education at UNAM, where women rep-resented 51.97% of the student body in 2023. However, despite this optimistic statistic, INEGI estimates that in Mexico only 60.6% of women between the ages of 3 and 29 years old attend school.

Author Biography

GLORIA CELIA CARREÑO ALVARADO, Archivo Histórico del Instituto de Investigaciones sobre la Universidad y la Educación de la UNAM

Es maestra en historia por la Facultad de Filosofía y Letras (FFYL) y actualmente cursa el doctorado en el Posgrado de la UNAM. Es técnica académica adscrita al Archivo Histórico del Instituto de Investigaciones sobre la Universidad y la Educación de la UNAM. Es profesora en la licenciatura de Administración de Archivos y gestión documental en la Escuela Nacional de Estudios Superiores (ENES) Morelia. Tiene cinco libros publicados como autora y otros siete como coautora. Ha publicado artículos de investigación y de difusión.
