Abstract

This article reflects how cultural diversity is not dissociated from sexual diversity in every country; it mentions how Mercosur relations are not only monetary, but that its members also share ideas and ways of thinking on sexuality. Emergent changes in different countries of South America have not been only useful to build up a political and social block similar to European Union, but also to open new ways to improve conceptions on sexual diversity and, consequently, to prevent homophobia. Each country has its own culture, based on longestablished thoughts, nevertheless, commercial relations may also contribute to achieve an open minded attitude towards an undeniable social reality: fear for difference.
