Los diálogos de la libertad de expresión: fundamentos filosóficos dentro del derecho internacional de los derechos humanos

Abstract

In this article the author presents the underlying relations to justify philosophically freedom of speech. Firstly, the relationship between freedom of speech and freedom and equality are analyzed in the American and European perspective. Secondly, Barbosa delves into the democratic ideas linked to the freedom of speech. With this analysis the author concludes that the bonds that hold the philosophical ideas of freedom of speech in the Occident tradition, are precisely the reason of a democratic society.
