Abstract

THIS WORK INTENDED TO INCREASE HEARING HABILITES OF EAR TRAINING STUDENTS IN TACKING DICTATION BY EMPLOYING A PROGRAMMED TEXT THROUGH AN ENTIRE ACADEMIC YEAR. THIS TEXT WAS BASED ON A PREVIOUS STUDY IN WHICH THE MAIN DIFFICULTIES THE STUDENTS HAVE TO WRITE MUSIC WERE DETECTED. THE RESULTS OF THIS STUDY SHOW AN INCREASE IN THE HABILITY OF WRITING CORRECTLY MELODY, RHYTHM, HARMONY, REGISTER AND TONALITY, SPECIALLY IN REGARD TO MINOR MODE AND COMPOUND METER. THE GREATEST INCREASE WAS OBSERVED IN THE CORRECT WAY OF WRITING ROMAN NUMBER WHICH REPRESENT ACCOMPANYING CHORDS. THIS TEXT WAS CREATED WITH THE PURPOSE OF USING IT AS REINFORCE MATERIAL FOR EAR TRAINING AND SIGHT SINGING (SOLFEGE) COURSES FOR THE STUDENTS TO DEVELOP HEARING HABILITES AT THEIR OWN PACE.
