Is Relational Frame Theory Intelligible?

Abstract
The present paper is a review of the book Relational Frame Theory: A post-Skinnerian account of human language and cognition, edited by Hayes, Barnes-Holmes y Roche (2001). The book offers the first synthesis of the various aspects of the so-called “relational frame theory” (RFT). The review focuses on the conceptual, theoretical and logical aspects. In general, such aspects are extremely ambiguous, obscure and occasionally incoherent. As far as unintelligibility allows to understand, RFT seems to be a deeply essentialistic and hypothetic-deductive proposal whose basic concepts (relation and entailment) can be subsumed by corresponding concepts in set theory and symbolic logic.
