The Socialist Architects Union and their Laborer City Project (1938)

Abstract
In September 1938, a group of young architects committed to the problem of housing for the most vulnerable classes, presented at the XVI Interna- tional Congress of Planning and the Room their Project of Ciudad Obrera, in which they proposed comfortable, hygienic rooms and functional; taking into account an internal organization that corresponded to a community life model which would de ne the urban and architectural design of the residen- tial and work buildings. In this way, the project of La Union de Arquitectos Socialistas would come to offer a novel proposal in the 1930s, which would add to the efforts of other architects to solve the problem of the living place in Mexico City.
