Religious Architecture in the Historiography of the Modern Movement
Main Article Content
Abstract
This paper analyzes the presence of religious architecture in the historiography of the Modern Movement; at the same time, it examines treatment it was given by historians such as Sigfried Giedion, Nikolaus Pevsner and Bruno Zevi, among others. Through the study of specific texts and projects, a historiographical gap in the relationship between modern architecture and religion became evident. In this light, the possibility of deepening the study of modern architecture and the consideration of its religious dimension, within a critical and broader historiographical framework, is proposed.
