Natural lighting frequency under sky type in the Mexico Basin
Main Article Content
Abstract
A good use of natural light depends on its availability at any given site. The Basin of Mexico, being in an intertropical zone, has abundant light resources almost year-round. On a clear day, over 90 klux have been recorded, though this amount is reduced by up to a third under cloudy conditions. Information was collected from several sources so as to present the annual and daytime frequency of sky types over a one-year period without climatic anomalies, as well as over the first five years with available recorded measurements, which showed that clear and partially cloudy sky conditions prevailed; therefore, particular strategies to take advantage of this natural light dynamic should be considered.
