Mechanical Performance of Concretes with RCD Additives, by ACI Method and Volume
Main Article Content
Abstract
For this technical report, 150kg/cm2 concrete was designed through the ACI method and by volume, using recycled and natural additives, comparing the resistance to simple compression of different mixes, utilizing Type II 30r RS Portland cement and tap water as constants. The mix with 100% RCD substitution did not perform well, but partial substitutions of thick RCD additives with natural sands did. The incorporation of concretes with RCD is less dense and requires more water. The interaction of natural additives and RCD allows for differentiated resistance, but it was possible to achieve the target resistance with partial substitutions of RCD. Natural additives interact differently with recycled additives. It is recommended that RCD concretes use mixes designed for performance.
