Abstract

In 1973, the government of the Federal District provided administrative infrastructure to each of its boroughs. The selection of sites for the construction of these enormous borough halls would have an impact on their surrounding areas. Such is the case of the Álvaro Obregón Borough Hall, which was originally rejected by its neighbors but eventually provided  them with the benefits and implications of the protection and awareness of the historic and heritage sites that make up Mexico City.
