Re-use: a trend for contemporary architecture in Mexico City
Main Article Content
Abstract
The idea of re-use implies acknowledging the practice of adding new value to an object that was once useful. In architecture, re-use is essential to the concept of current needs in built spaces, where historical, cultural, technical values converge. The recycling of existing structures reduces environmental impacts, as opposed to building anew. This is particularly visible in Mexico City, where re-use projects have increased in number over the past three decades.
