Adam Smith today?

Abstract

This paper explores what can allow us today to address the theoretical discourse of almost three hundred years ago, referring to the birth of Adam Smith. Not only is the creator of the An Inquiry into the Nature and Causes of the Wealth of Nations celebrated, but above all the complexity of this stage, which changed the lives of entire societies and is no less influential than the Industrial Revolution, a process that continues to this day. Highlighting the importance of the illustration that occurs in Scotland, particularly its intellectuals, who were concerned about morality, as professors of this subject in the universities of that country.
