The influence of the OECD in the preparation of economic policy

Abstract

The object of this article is to analyze the role of the OECD in the expansion of financial interests at a global level.  To understand how the OECD acts as a center of persuasion in current times, the article traces the evolution of the organization.  It analyzes the different internal mechanisms and how the organization interacts with different governments, members and non-members.  The article examines how the recommendations of the OECD often become public policy by focusing on the case of Mexico.
