Political Communication, Media and Elections in Mexico

Abstract
This article reviews the main characteristics of the media in Mexico on an analysis of the socio-historical context of 2003, since such qualities are the basis of the role of the media before political power, particularly at key moments such as the elections.
The authoress analyzes the behavior of the media based on IFE information to establish that the media actions have the potential to be an element that influences the development of the democracy in Mexico, particularly in terms of equity.
