Abstract

The unique characteristics of distance education and on-line education require students to get acquainted with this educational experience before beginning a course.  If not, the experience may not satisfy him/her and the student may not complete the course.  It’s desirable, if not mandatory, that the student possess at least some basic information about the course, the institution, the characteristics of this mode of delivery and the relationship between distance education and his/her own capabilities and talents so that s/he may make an informed decision.
