Left-wing Latin American militarism: history, tradition and characteristics

Abstract

In studies about Iberoamerican militarism, the left political positions, and even leftists, have not been adequately studied. Therefore, this article find to expose the long tradition of left militarism, which is present in all Iberoamerican history, in addition to presenting the main lines leading to that part of the official positions adopted by left positions and / or Iberoamerican leftist follow military leadership. This text focuses on the author’s master’s thesis about military reformism from 1992 to 2007 in Ecuador, Peru and Venezuela.

Periodista - Licenciado en Comunicación Social por la Universidad Austral de Chile (uach), maestro en Estudios Latinoamericanos por la unam.Profesor-ayudante en la unam, uach y la Universidad del Aconcagua (uac).Autor de artículos académicos sobre temas de militarismo hispanoamericano, y sobre la historia del continente, además del uso de las tecnologías de la información y la comunicación (tic’s). Articulista en el portal El Post y El Naveghable en Chile.
